What this is
Newerkey Notes is my public learning journal. It's where I document what I'm building, what I'm learning, and the principles I keep returning to.
The notes cover Linux, infrastructure, automation, observability, and the platform systems behind reliable software teams. They're not tutorials. They're engineering notes — grounded in real work, honest about tradeoffs, and written for someone a few steps behind me on the same path.
The name Newerkey comes from Nuerkie, my middle name. It's personal before it's anything else.
